Maintenance Sustainable, proactive and timely maintenance
RTA-Yhtiöt strives to make housing and transport safe – around the clock, in all weathers, anticipating maintenance needs. We carry out summer and winter maintenance of streets and traffic areas, as well as property maintenance, mainly in the capital region and the rest of southern Finland.
In large-scale public area contracting, we serve cities, municipalities and other public sector clients, as well as real estate companies. The service package is tailored with the customer. We also provide maintenance services in smaller packages for private customers, such as property owners and property managers of housing companies.

RTA-Yhtiöt began regional contracting for winter maintenance in Helsinki in 1997. We now carry out public area contracting on a comprehensive basis, covering both winter and summer maintenance and landscaping. In the case of full-service contracts, RTA carries out the year-round management and maintenance of the site as a whole, in accordance with the quality standards defined by the contracting authority.
Winter maintenance for improved road safety
RTA has lengthy experience in the winter maintenance of streets, roads and traffic routes. In the early days, back in 1968 in Hyvinkää, we had a single machine. Today, we operate with dozens of machines across southern Finland. Winter maintenance includes a wide range of tasks such as snow ploughing, snow removal, snow transport, de-slippage, surface levelling and freezing of ice rinks.
Property maintenance for better living
We also carry out maintenance as part of property management. Typical maintenance tasks include snow ploughing, gravelling and care of grassy areas. The work may be carried out on one or more public or private properties.
Greenery management for a pleasant living environment
We take a holistic approach to managing the green areas of our public area contracting sites. The maintenance of green areas covers many tasks, including care of lawns, flowering plants, shrubs and trees. Our greenery planting managers and greenery planting workers have professional qualifications in the greenery sector, depending on the demands of the job. For demanding projects, we work with our subcontracting network of greenery experts, such as arborists to assist with tree care and felling.
Maintenance equipment
Our range of maintenance equipment depends on the needs of our projects and customers. In the case of multi-year projects, we invest in equipment suitable for the site, or subcontract with subcontractors to manage the site. An important selection criterion in the procurement of equipment is its functionality to meet the needs of the site and its environmental friendliness. We use the lowest-emission vehicles possible for the job. The maintenance work is mainly carried out with wheeled machines of various sizes, road maintenance vehicles, suction and washing equipment and high-powered mowers. Additional specialised equipment is used as required for the job.
